Cartography Table

The Cartography Table is a utility block used for cloning, expanding, and locking maps. It is also the job site block for cartographer villagers in villages. A Cartography Table allows players to modify maps without consuming extra materials, making it a more efficient alternative to using a Crafting Table for map-related functions.

A Cartography Table is crafted using 2 Paper and 4 Planks of any type in a 3×3 crafting grid. It also generates naturally in cartographer houses within villages. To use a Cartography Table, the player must tap on it to open the interface. Placing a map in the first slot and paper in the second slot will expand the map’s coverage. Placing a map and an empty map together creates an identical copy. Adding a Glass Pane locks a map, preventing further changes to its explored area.

A Cartography Table can be mined with any tool, but axes break it the fastest. It retains no stored items when broken and placed again. Unlike a Lectern, a Cartography Table cannot display maps but is essential for modifying them efficiently.
