Daylight Detector
The Daylight Detector is a Redstone component that generates a Redstone signal based on sunlight levels. It is commonly used in automatic lighting systems, time-based Redstone circuits, and solar-powered contraptions. A Daylight Detector is crafted using 3 Glass, 3 Nether Quartz, and 3 Wood Slabs of any type in a 3×3 crafting grid. It does not generate naturally and must be crafted by the player.
When placed, a Daylight Detector emits a Redstone signal that varies depending on the time of day. At midday, when the sunlight is strongest, it produces a full signal strength of 15. The signal gradually weakens during sunrise and sunset, and it stops emitting power at night unless modified.
Tapping on a Daylight Detector switches it to inverted mode, causing it to activate at night instead of during the day. In this mode, it produces a maximum Redstone signal at midnight and turns off during daylight hours. A Daylight Detector can be mined with any tool, but axes break it the fastest. Unlike a Redstone Torch, it does not provide a constant power source but is essential for light-sensitive Redstone mechanisms.
