Water Bottle

Water bottles are a basic utility item obtained by filling a glass bottle from a water source block, cauldron, or rain-filled cauldron. They serve as the foundation for brewing potions in a brewing stand and are required to create awkward potions, the base for most potion recipes.

Unlike other bottled items, water bottles cannot be consumed but can be used to extinguish campfires and wash dyes off leather armor in cauldrons. They can also be used to cure zombie villagers when combined with a golden apple and a splash potion of weakness.

Since water bottles are renewable and reusable after drinking potions, they are an essential item for potion brewing, crafting mundane potions, and other niche survival mechanics in Minecraft.
