Turtle
Turtle is a passive mob found in beach biomes. It is the only source of turtle scutes, which drop when baby turtles mature into adults. Turtles can be bred using seagrass and will lay turtle eggs on their home beach. Turtles drop 0–2 seagrass upon death and have a chance to drop a bowl when killed by lightning. Unlike most passive mobs, turtles do not drop experience when killed.
Turtles can be bred using seagrass. Feeding two turtles seagrass puts them into love mode, after which one turtle becomes pregnant. The pregnant turtle returns to its home beach, where it lays 1–4 turtle eggs in the sand. This turtle is slightly 0.2 blocks taller than normal while carrying eggs. Baby turtles hatch from turtle eggs after a few Minecraft nights and take one Minecraft day (20 minutes) to grow into adults. Their growth can be accelerated using seagrass, with each use reducing the remaining growth time by 10%. When a baby turtle matures, it drops 1 turtle scute, which can be used to craft turtle shells for water breathing effects.
Turtles move slowly on land but swim quickly in water. They always return to their home beach to lay eggs, even if moved elsewhere. Hostile mobs like zombies, drowned, and skeletons attack baby turtles and turtle eggs, making them vulnerable and requiring protection in farms.
