End City
End City is a tall structure that generates on the outer islands of the End, accessible after defeating the Ender Dragon and using an end gateway. These cities are made of purpur blocks and end stone bricks, and are inhabited by shulkers, which guard the structure and its valuable loot.
End cities may appear as a single tower or a network of branching towers connected by bridges. Rooms vary from empty chambers to parkour areas and loot rooms containing enchanted diamond or iron gear, gold, and ender chests. Nether rods provide light, and banners decorate the towers.
Some end cities generate with an attached end ship, a floating structure containing a brewing stand, two loot chests, and an item frame holding elytra—the only way to obtain elytra in Survival mode. A dragon head is also found at the bow of the ship.
End cities generate only in midlands and highlands biomes on large outer islands. They are spaced in a grid pattern, meaning players may need to travel far between structures.
