Bedrock

Bedrock is an indestructible block found in all three dimensions. It naturally generates at the bottom of the Overworld and Nether, as well as in structures like end gateways and exit portals in the End. In Survival mode, bedrock cannot be obtained as an item or broken without glitches.

In the Nether, a solid layer of bedrock forms the ceiling at Y=127, preventing players from accessing the area above. In the End, bedrock structures protect end crystals and maintain the exit portal. Fire placed on bedrock in the End never extinguishes naturally.

Bedrock is used to trap the Wither for safe farming, as it cannot be broken by explosions. It is also one of the only blocks where end crystals can be placed, allowing players to respawn the Ender Dragon. Additionally, placing a note block above bedrock produces a bass drum sound.
