Infested Deepslate
Infested Deepslate is a variant of deepslate that conceals silverfish, which emerge when the block is broken without Silk Touch. It has the same texture as regular deepslate but takes significantly less time to break. When a nearby silverfish is attacked, hidden silverfish in surrounding infested blocks emerge to swarm the player. Infested deepslate cannot be obtained in item form and is only available through the Creative inventory or commands.
It generates naturally in mountainous biomes, including Windswept Hills, Meadow, Grove, and various Peak biomes, replacing regular deepslate in certain areas. Silverfish can also infest normal deepslate, converting it into infested deepslate.
When mined with any tool, except one enchanted with Silk Touch, an infested deepslate block releases a silverfish that immediately attacks. Infested blocks take half the time to break compared to their normal counterparts, making them distinguishable when mined. In Java Edition, they can also be identified using the debug screen. In Bedrock Edition, placing a note block on an infested deepslate block produces a flute sound, while regular deepslate produces a bass drum sound.
