Waxed Oxidized Copper Grate
A Waxed Oxidized Copper Grate is the final stage of oxidized copper grate that has been treated with honeycomb to prevent further changes in appearance. Like all copper grates, it features a perforated design that allows players to see through it, making it useful as a decorative or atmospheric block in builds where transparency and aged texture are desired.
Because it is waxed, this grate does not continue to oxidize and will remain in its oxidized teal state permanently. It shares all other properties with regular copper grates: it does not conduct redstone, cannot be used to spawn mobs on top, and is transparent to both sight and smoke. It can be waterlogged and blends seamlessly when placed next to other copper grates in the same oxidation and waxed state, becoming visually invisible between them.
Waxed oxidized copper grates are primarily crafted by combining an oxidized copper grate with a honeycomb. They can also be obtained through stonecutting using a matching waxed oxidized copper block. These blocks generate naturally in trial chambers and are often found forming bridges, floors, or decorative walkways in those structures.
Due to their resistance to further oxidation and their unique appearance, waxed oxidized copper grates are ideal for players looking to build with a weathered copper aesthetic that will not change over time.
