Birch Sign
The Birch Sign is a customizable decorative block used to display up to four lines of text. It is crafted from birch planks and a stick, yielding three signs per recipe. Like all wooden signs, it can be placed on the top or side of most solid blocks and is unaffected by water or lava flow, making it a popular choice for labeling, directions, or messages in any environment.
After placement, players can enter text directly, then later dye it using any color dye or make it glow using a glow ink sac. A standard ink sac removes the glow effect. Signs can also be waxed with a honeycomb to lock their text, preventing further edits unless the sign is broken. Each side of a sign can have independent text, editable by interacting with that side.
Birch signs break easily with any tool, though axes are the most efficient. They can also serve as furnace fuel (excluding Nether variants) and emit a 'bass' note when placed under a note block. Birch Signs are ideal for building aesthetics, storage organization, or interactive redstone systems thanks to their editable and dyeable text.
