Oxidized Lightning Rod
The Oxidized Lightning Rod is the final stage of the Lightning Rod’s oxidation process, showcasing a rich teal-green patina that fully covers its copper surface. While its appearance reflects complete aging, it retains full functionality—redirecting lightning strikes within a 128-block radius in Java Edition (64 in Bedrock Edition). When struck, it emits a redstone signal of power level 15 for 0.4 seconds, making it valuable for storm-powered redstone circuits and protective structures.
Like all lightning rod variants, the Oxidized Lightning Rod can be placed facing any direction and is fully waterloggable. It can be scraped with an axe or struck by lightning to remove oxidation and return to an earlier stage. To preserve its aged look permanently, players can apply Honeycomb to create a Waxed Oxidized Lightning Rod.
The Oxidized Lightning Rod combines practicality and aesthetics, with a hardness of 3 and blast resistance of 6, ensuring durability even during thunderstorms. Its weathered teal hue makes it a striking addition to aged or mystical builds, serving as both a functional lightning conduit and a decorative architectural accent that marks the natural passage of time in a Minecraft world.
