Fire Coral Block
Fire Coral Block is a bright red coral block found in warm ocean coral reefs, and is one of five coral block types alongside tube, brain, bubble, and horn coral. It’s commonly used for vibrant underwater builds, sea pickle farming, and decorative projects thanks to its glowing color and animated texture.
To obtain a fire coral block in Survival, you must use a Silk Touch-enchanted pickaxe. Without Silk Touch, it drops a dead fire coral block, which appears dull gray and cannot be revived once formed. Fire coral blocks also occasionally appear in the trade offers of wandering traders, costing 3 emeralds.
For a fire coral block to stay alive, it must be adjacent to at least one water or waterlogged block. If placed without touching water, it begins dying and transforms into its dead variant after a few seconds. This mechanic is true even if it’s submerged but fully surrounded by non-water blocks.
When used in sea pickle farms, fire coral blocks support the growth and spread of sea pickles when bone meal is applied. Fire coral blocks also produce a 'bass drum' sound when placed under note blocks, making them functional in redstone music builds as well.
