Monster Spawner
Monster Spawner is a block that continuously spawns a specific mob when a player is nearby. It cannot be obtained in Survival mode and only drops experience when broken.
Monster Spawners generate naturally in structures like dungeons, mineshafts, strongholds, Nether fortresses, bastions, and woodland mansions. They activate within a 16-block radius and attempt to spawn mobs in a 9×3×9 area, pausing for 10 to 39.95 seconds before spawning again.
The spawning conditions depend on the mob type, requiring appropriate blocks, light levels, and space. Some spawners, like blaze or silverfish spawners, require a light level of 12 or higher to be disabled. Others can be deactivated by filling the spawning area with solid blocks.
In Creative mode, spawners can be obtained and modified using spawn eggs or commands. They can also be placed under note blocks to produce bass drum sounds. Monster Spawners cannot be moved by pistons.
