Grey Bed

The Grey Bed is a respawn point and a sleeping mechanism that allows players to skip the night in Minecraft. It functions identically to other beds but has a gray-colored frame and sheets. A Grey Bed is crafted using 3 Gray Wool and 3 Planks of any type in a 3×3 crafting grid. It can also be obtained by dyeing a White Bed with Gray Dye or by breaking naturally generated beds in villages.

When used at night or during thunderstorms, a Grey Bed allows the player to sleep, advancing time to morning and resetting phantom spawn timers. In multiplayer, all players must sleep simultaneously to skip the night. A Grey Bed also serves as a respawn point when placed and interacted with. If the player dies, they will respawn at the last bed they slept in, as long as it remains unobstructed. Destroying or obstructing the bed after setting a spawn point causes the player to respawn at the world spawn upon death.

In The Nether and The End, attempting to sleep in a Grey Bed causes it to explode, dealing significant damage and destroying nearby blocks. This mechanic is often used for mining Ancient Debris in the Nether. A Grey Bed can be mined instantly by hand or with any tool.
