Mule

Mule

The Mule is a passive mob in Minecraft that is a hybrid between a horse and a donkey. It can be tamed, ridden, and equipped with chests, making it a useful transport animal. Unlike horses, Mule has consistent speed and jump height, similar to donkeys. Mule drops 0–2 leather upon death, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment.

Mule cannot be bred naturally. It is obtained by breeding a tamed horse and a tamed donkey using golden apples or golden carrots. The offspring will always be a Mule. Like other baby animals, a baby Mule takes 20 minutes to grow into an adult, but this time can be reduced by feeding it sugar, wheat, apples, golden apples, golden carrots, or hay bales. Mule must be tamed before it can be ridden. To tame Mule, the player must mount it repeatedly until hearts appear, indicating that it has accepted the rider. Once tamed, a saddle can be equipped, allowing the player to control its movement.

Like donkeys, Mule can be equipped with a chest, providing 15 inventory slots for additional storage. However, once a chest is attached, it cannot be removed. Mule is a passive mob and will never attack the player. It does not spawn naturally in the world and must be bred from a horse and a donkey. While it cannot breed further, its ability to carry extra storage makes it a valuable alternative to horses for long-distance travel and transportation.
