Tropical fish is a food item obtained by catching a tropical fish with a fishing rod or by killing them in warm ocean biomes. It restores one hunger point when eaten raw but has very low saturation, making it one of the least effective food sources in Minecraft.

Unlike other fish, tropical fish cannot be cooked or used for trading. However, they are primarily used for breeding axolotls and can also be placed in a water bucket to create a bucket of tropical fish, which is useful for transporting them.

Tropical fish spawn in a variety of colors and patterns, making them popular for decorative aquariums. While they are not ideal as a food source, they are valuable for breeding axolotls and for aesthetic builds involving fish tanks.
