Diamonds are required to craft diamond swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, and hoes, which are among the most durable and effective tools in Minecraft. They are also essential for making diamond armor, enchanting tables, and jukeboxes. In addition, netherite gear must be upgraded from diamond tools and armor using a smithing table.

Since diamonds are rare and valuable, they are commonly sought after for late-game survival, enchanting, and high-tier crafting. They can also be traded with toolsmith and weaponsmith villagers at master level in exchange for emeralds.
