Lapis lazuli is a mineral obtained by mining lapis lazuli ore or by looting chests in temples, villages, and bastions. It can also be acquired by trading with cleric villagers at apprentice level.

Lapis lazuli is primarily used for enchanting items at an enchanting table, where it is consumed along with experience levels to apply enchantments to tools, weapons, and armor. It is also used as a crafting ingredient for blue dye, which can be applied to wool, beds, banners, glass, and more.

Since lapis lazuli drops in large quantities per ore block, it is relatively easy to stockpile and is an essential resource for players focused on enchanting, dyeing, and trading.
