Melon Seeds
Melon seeds are a crop item obtained by crafting a melon slice, breaking naturally generated melons, or looting chests in mineshafts and villages. They are used to grow melon crops when planted on tilled farmland.
When planted, melon seeds grow through eight stages before becoming a melon stem. Unlike other crops, the stem does not break when fully grown but instead spawns melons on adjacent dirt, grass, farmland, or moss blocks. Applying bone meal speeds up the stem’s growth, but it does not affect melon spawning.
Melon seeds can also be used to breed and lure chickens or trade with novice-level farmer villagers. Due to their renewable nature and usefulness in farming, they are a valuable crop for food production and automation.
