Creeper

Creeper is a common hostile mob known for its silent approach and explosive attack. It sneaks up on players and detonates, causing significant damage and destroying nearby blocks. Creepers are the primary source of gunpowder and the only way to obtain most music discs in survival mode.

Creepers drop 0–2 gunpowder upon death, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment. If a creeper is killed by a skeleton, stray, wither skeleton, or bogged, it drops a music disc. A creeper head can only be obtained if a charged creeper kills another mob such as a piglin, zombie, skeleton, stray, bogged, or another creeper.

Creepers cannot be bred and spawn naturally in dark areas, typically at night or inside caves. Unlike other mobs, creepers do not burn in sunlight, making them a persistent threat even during the day.

Creepers are hostile mobs that silently approach players before initiating an explosion. Their detonation time is 1.5 seconds, but they will cancel the explosion if the player escapes their range. When a creeper is struck by lightning, it becomes a charged creeper, significantly increasing its explosion power. Charged creepers are the only way to obtain mob heads from zombies, skeletons, piglins, strays, bogged, and other creepers. Due to their iconic design and destructive nature, creepers are one of Minecraft’s most recognizable mobs, often appearing in promotional material and merchandise.
