Dolphin
Dolphin is a neutral aquatic mob that spawns in non-frozen ocean biomes. It provides players with a speed boost when swimming nearby and actively follows players who are swimming in the water. Dolphins drop 0–1 raw cod when killed, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment.
Dolphins cannot be bred and do not produce any additional resources. They spawn naturally in small groups, making them a common sight in warm and deep oceans.
Dolphins are neutral mobs and do not attack players unless provoked. If a player hits a dolphin, the entire pod will become hostile and attack in retaliation. Dolphins are known for their playful behavior, frequently leaping above the water’s surface and chasing boats. When swimming near a dolphin, the player receives the Dolphin’s Grace effect, which greatly increases swimming speed.
Dolphins have a unique "treasure - seeking" mechanic. If fed raw cod or raw salmon, they will lead the player to the nearest buried treasure, shipwreck, or ocean ruin. They can also be attached to a lead, allowing players to move them to different locations. However, if removed from water for too long, dolphins suffocate and die, making them unsuitable for land-based environments.
