Llama

Llama is a tamable neutral mob used to transport large shipments of items. It serves as a pack animal, making it useful for carrying goods over long distances. Llamas naturally spawn in windswept hills, savannas, and savanna plateaus, while trader llamas accompany the Wandering Trader. Llamas drop 0–2 leather upon death, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment.

Llamas can be tamed by repeatedly riding them until hearts appear. To do this, the player must mount the llama while holding nothing until it accepts the rider. Once tamed, llamas can be bred using hay bales, producing a baby llama. Baby llamas take 20 minutes to grow into adults, but their growth can be accelerated by feeding them wheat or hay bales.

A tamed llama can be equipped with a chest, allowing it to carry 3–15 inventory slots, depending on its strength stat. Llamas cannot wear saddles, meaning players cannot control their movement, but they can be led using a lead. If multiple llamas are leashed, they will form a caravan, following the leading llama, which allows for the easy transportation of multiple llamas at once.

If attacked, llamas spit at their attacker, dealing a small amount of knockback damage. They also attack wolves on sight, making them useful for defending livestock. A tamed llama can be decorated with a carpet, giving it a unique appearance based on the color of the carpet placed in its carpet slot.
