Mule

Mule is a passive mob in Minecraft that is a hybrid between a horse and a donkey. It can be tamed, ridden, and equipped with chests, making it a useful transport animal. Unlike horses, mules have consistent speed and jump height, similar to donkeys. Mules drop 0–2 leather upon death, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment.

Mules cannot be bred naturally. They are obtained by breeding a tamed horse and a tamed donkey using golden apples or golden carrots. The offspring will always be a mule. Like other baby animals, a baby mule takes 20 minutes to grow into an adult, but this time can be reduced by feeding it sugar, wheat, apples, golden apples, golden carrots, or hay bales. Mules must be tamed before they can be ridden. To tame a mule, the player must mount it repeatedly until hearts appear, indicating that it has accepted the rider. Once tamed, a saddle can be equipped, allowing the player to control its movement.

Like donkeys, mules can be equipped with a chest, providing 15 inventory slots for additional storage. However, once a chest is attached, it cannot be removed. Mules are passive mobs and will never attack the player. They do not spawn naturally in the world and must be bred from a horse and a donkey. While they cannot breed further, their ability to carry extra storage makes them a valuable alternative to horses for long-distance travel and transportation.
