Shepherd

The Shepherd is a villager profession in Minecraft that specializes in trading wool, dyes, and decorative banners. It uses the Loom as its job site block, which allows unemployed villagers to take on the profession when placed nearby.

Trades include wool, dyes, paintings, and beds, making them a useful source for obtaining colored wool and decoration items. At higher levels, they offer banners, which can be customized using a Loom for unique designs.

They progress through five levels—Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and Master—unlocking better trades as they gain experience. They can be leveled up by trading emeralds, wool, dyes, and shears.

Shepherds can be zombified and cured to reduce trade costs, making them useful in trading halls. They spawn naturally in villages but can also be assigned the profession by placing a Loom near an unemployed villager.
