Strider

Strider is a passive mob found in the Nether. It is the only mob capable of walking on lava, making it a valuable means of transportation across lava lakes. Striders can be saddled and controlled using a warped fungus on a stick. Striders drop 2–5 string when killed, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment. They also drop 1–3 experience when killed by a player. Striders can be bred using warped fungus. Feeding two adult striders warped fungus will put them into love mode, causing them to produce a baby strider. This action grants the player 1–7 experience.

Striders are passive mobs and do not attack the player. They naturally walk on lava without sinking and are immune to lava damage. However, when removed from lava, they shiver and turn purple, moving more slowly until they return to a lava surface. A saddled strider can be controlled using a warped fungus on a stick, allowing players to ride them across lava lakes. They can also be attached to a lead, making it easier to guide them. Their ability to traverse lava makes them essential for safe exploration of the Nether's lava-filled terrain.
