Copper Golem

Copper Golem

The Copper Golem is a passive, buildable mob made from copper that acts as a small helper for managing storage. It takes items from Copper Chests and places them into nearby Wooden or Trapped Chests if the destination can hold that item type. The Copper Golem adds a touch of automation to the game world, combining functionality with the unique oxidizing behavior of copper-based blocks.

To create a Copper Golem, place a Block of Copper (any oxidation or waxed state) with a Carved Pumpkin or Jack o’Lantern on top—the pumpkin must be placed last. Upon creation, the copper block transforms into a Copper Chest, and the Copper Golem spawns in its place. Its oxidation level matches the block used. Unwaxed golems gradually oxidize through four stages—unoxidized, exposed, weathered, and oxidized—before eventually turning into a Copper Golem Statue. Using an axe can remove oxidation or reanimate a statue.

The Copper Golem has 12 health points (6 hearts) and wanders passively, occasionally spinning its head or staring at players. It can open non-iron doors and transport up to 16 of a specific item at a time between chests, checking containers within a 65×17×65 block range. It cannot interact with Ender Chests, Minecarts with Chests, or dropped items. The Copper Golem can be waxed with Honeycomb to prevent oxidation and petrification, or unwaxed with an axe.

On death, the Copper Golem drops 1–3 Copper Ingots and may hold a poppy gifted by an Iron Golem, which can be collected using shears. Though entirely passive, its lively animations and gradual aging process make it one of the most characterful utility mobs in Minecraft, embodying both function and charm through its copper design.
