Anvil

The Anvil is a utility block used to repair items, rename tools and equipment, and combine enchantments in Minecraft. Unlike a Grindstone, using an Anvil preserves enchantments when repairing items. An Anvil is crafted using 3 Blocks of Iron and 4 Iron Ingots in a 3×3 crafting grid. It does not generate naturally and must be crafted by the player.

To use an Anvil, the player must tap on it to open the interface. The left slot is for the item to be modified, and the right slot is for the material used in repairs or the item being combined. Experience levels are required to perform actions, with costs varying based on the operation and previous modifications to the item.

An Anvil has limited durability and takes damage each time it is used. It has a 12% chance to become damaged with every use and will eventually break after multiple uses. It also follows gravity and will fall if the block beneath it is removed, dealing heavy damage to entities it lands on. An Anvil can be mined with any tool, but pickaxes break it the fastest.
