Cinnabar Slab
Cinnabar Slab is a decorative building block that functions as the slab variant of the cinnabar block. Like other slabs in Minecraft, the Cinnabar Slab occupies only half the vertical height of a standard block space. It can be placed along either the top or bottom half of a block position, and two Cinnabar Slab pieces stacked within the same space will merge to form a full double slab.
Obtaining a Cinnabar Slab requires a pickaxe of any tier; breaking it without the correct tool yields nothing. It carries a hardness value of 1.5 and a blast resistance of 6, giving it moderate durability against both manual mining and explosions. The Cinnabar Slab is not renewable, cannot burn, and will not catch fire when exposed to lava.
There are two ways to craft the Cinnabar Slab. Arranging three cinnabar blocks in a single horizontal row across a crafting grid produces six slabs at once. Alternatively, placing one cinnabar block in a stonecutter yields two Cinnabar Slab pieces, which can be a more efficient option when working with limited material. Two Cinnabar Slab blocks arranged vertically in a crafting grid will produce one chiseled cinnabar block, offering a route to further decorative variants.
The Cinnabar Slab also supports waterlogging, meaning it can hold water within its space without being displaced. When used as the block directly beneath a note block, it causes the note block to emit a bass drum sound.
