Cinnabar Stairs
Cinnabar Stairs are a decorative block found in Minecraft, serving as the stair variant of the deep-red cinnabar mineral block. Like all stair-type blocks, Cinnabar Stairs allow players to move up or down a single block at a time without needing to jump, making them a practical choice for paths, architecture, and interior design. They can be oriented in any of four horizontal directions and placed in either the upper or lower half of a block space, offering considerable flexibility when building.
Cinnabar Stairs must be mined with a pickaxe to drop anything; attempting to break them without one yields no item. A wooden pickaxe breaks them in roughly 1.15 seconds, while a golden pickaxe reduces that time to around 0.2 seconds, with other tool tiers falling in between. The block has a blast resistance of 6, emits no light, and is neither flammable nor capable of catching fire from lava. It also cannot be waterlogged.
Crafting Cinnabar Stairs follows the standard stair recipe: six cinnabar blocks arranged in the typical stair pattern produce four stairs. Alternatively, a single cinnabar block processed in a stonecutter yields one Cinnabar Stairs directly, making the stonecutter a more material-efficient option. Because cinnabar itself is not a renewable resource, Cinnabar Stairs are similarly non-renewable, so they are best used thoughtfully in builds where their distinctive dark-red aesthetic fits the design.
