Soul Torch
The Soul Torch is a light-emitting block that provides dimmer lighting than a regular Torch but prevents Piglins from approaching. It emits a light level of 10, making it less effective for mob-proofing compared to standard torches. A Soul Torch is crafted using 1 Stick, 1 Soul Sand or Soul Soil, and 1 Coal or Charcoal in a 3×3 crafting grid. It also generates naturally in bastion remnants and ancient cities.
A Soul Torch can be placed on solid blocks, fences, and some transparent blocks, just like a regular Torch, but it cannot be placed on ceilings. Its blue flame gives a unique aesthetic and is useful for decorating dark or eerie builds. It also repels Piglins, making it useful in the Nether to keep them at a distance. A Soul Torch can be mined instantly by hand or with any tool. Unlike a Lantern, a Soul Torch does not require Iron Nuggets, making it a cheaper alternative for atmospheric lighting and Piglin deterrence.
