Vines are climbable vegetation blocks that grow on walls and can be used to craft mossy cobblestone, mossy stone bricks, and a Bordure Indented Banner Pattern. They generate naturally in jungles, swamps, mangrove swamps, and lush caves, as well as on trees and structures like jungle pyramids and woodland mansions.
Vines can be placed on solid block surfaces and spread over time in multiple directions. They can be climbed by holding the jump key or moving forward when a solid block is behind them. Vines slow movement, cancel sprints, and absorb all fall damage, even without a surface nearby.
Vines can be collected with shears and do not grow when bone meal is applied. Wandering traders may sell them for one emerald. Additionally, placing vines into a composter has a 50% chance of increasing the compost level, making them moderately effective for composting.
