Weeping Vines

Weeping Vines are downward-growing vegetation found in the Nether's Crimson Forest biome. They can be climbed and used for composting but do not generate in the Overworld naturally.

Weeping Vines grow from the ceilings of Crimson Forest crevices and on Huge Crimson Fungi. They have a 10% chance to extend downward with each random tick and stop growing once they reach the ground or reach an age value of 25. Bone meal can be applied to any part of a vine chain to extend it further.

Weeping Vines can be collected instantly with any tool, but shears or a Silk Touch tool guarantee a drop. Without these, they have a 33% drop chance, increasing to 100% with Fortune III. The best way to harvest them is from the bottom, ensuring the highest yield.

Weeping Vines can be climbed by holding the jump key or moving forward when backed by a solid block. They can also be composted with a 50% chance of increasing the compost level, making them moderately effective for composting.
