Hopper

The Hopper is a storage and transport block used to transfer items between containers and automate item collection. It is commonly used in sorting systems, automatic farms, and Redstone contraptions. A Hopper is crafted using 5 Iron Ingots and 1 Chest in a 3×3 crafting grid. It does not generate naturally and must be crafted by the player.

When placed, a Hopper pulls items from containers above and pushes them into containers below or in front. It can collect dropped items within a 1×1 block radius and automatically transfer them to connected chests, furnaces, droppers, or other Hoppers.

A Hopper has five input sides and one output. To control item movement, a Redstone signal can disable a Hopper, preventing it from transferring or collecting items. This is useful for item filters and controlled sorting systems. A Hopper can be mined with any tool, but pickaxes break it the fastest. Unlike a Dropper, a Hopper does not eject items but instead moves them silently and efficiently between storage blocks, making it essential for automation and item management.
