Sticky Piston
The Sticky Piston is a Redstone component that pushes and pulls blocks when powered. It is commonly used in Redstone contraptions, secret doors, traps, and block-swapping mechanisms. A Sticky Piston is crafted using 1 Slime Ball and 1 Piston in a 3×3 crafting grid. It does not generate naturally and must be crafted by the player.
When powered by Redstone, a Sticky Piston extends its wooden arm, pushing the block directly in front of it. When the power is removed, the Sticky Piston retracts and pulls the block back with it. A Sticky Piston can move most solid blocks but cannot push or pull Obsidian, Bedrock, Crying Obsidian, End Portal Frames, or certain tile entities like Chests and Furnaces.
A Sticky Piston can be powered by Redstone signals from sources like Levers, Redstone Torches, Redstone Repeaters, and Powered Rails. It is commonly used in piston doors, hidden entrances, and block manipulation systems. A Sticky Piston can be mined with any tool, but pickaxes break it the fastest. Unlike a Piston, a Sticky Piston retracts the block it pushes, making it essential for Redstone circuits requiring two-way movement.
