Strider

The Strider is a passive mob found in the Nether. It is the only mob capable of walking on lava, making it a valuable means of transportation across lava lakes. The Strider can be saddled and controlled using a warped fungus on a stick. It drops 2–5 string when killed, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment. It also drops 1–3 experience when killed by a player. The Strider can be bred using warped fungus. Feeding two adult striders warped fungus will put them into love mode, causing them to produce a baby strider. This action grants the player 1–7 experience.

The Strider is a passive mob and does not attack the player. It naturally walks on lava without sinking and is immune to lava damage. However, when removed from lava, it shivers and turns purple, moving more slowly until it returns to a lava surface. A saddled Strider can be controlled using a warped fungus on a stick, allowing players to ride it across lava lakes. It can also be attached to a lead, making it easier to guide. Its ability to traverse lava makes it essential for safe exploration of the Nether's lava-filled terrain.
