Shield

A shield is a defensive tool crafted from wooden planks and an iron ingot, used to block incoming attacks and reduce damage. When raised, a shield can block most melee attacks, projectiles like arrows, and explosions, making it essential for combat and survival.

Shields can be customized by applying a banner in a crafting table, allowing players to display unique designs. They can also be enchanted with Unbreaking and Mending for increased durability. While blocking, the player moves more slowly and cannot attack, but the shield provides strong protection against skeletons, pillagers, and other ranged enemies.

A shield loses durability when blocking attacks but can be repaired using wooden planks in an anvil or crafting table. Due to its versatility, a shield is a crucial tool for both PvE and PvP combat, especially when facing multiple opponents or powerful ranged attackers.
