Spruce Saplings are tree saplings obtained by breaking or letting spruce leaves decay. They have a 5% drop chance from leaves and can be collected more efficiently using a tool enchanted with Fortune, which increases the drop rate.
Spruce Saplings can be planted on dirt, grass, podzol, or moss blocks and will grow into a spruce tree when exposed to sufficient light. Using bone meal speeds up their growth. Placing four Spruce Saplings in a 2x2 formation allows them to grow into a giant spruce tree, which yields more wood and creates a podzol-covered area around its base.
Spruce trees are a source of spruce logs, used for crafting dark-colored wood, and are commonly found in taiga and snowy biomes. Due to their high wood yield and easy growth mechanics, Spruce Saplings are a popular choice for large-scale tree farms.
