Ocean Explorer Map

The Ocean Explorer Map is a specialized map that helps players locate an Ocean Monument. It is primarily used for finding Elder Guardians, sponges, and rare loot inside the structure.

An Ocean Explorer Map can be obtained by trading with cartographer villagers at apprentice level in exchange for emeralds and a compass. It cannot be crafted or found in chests.

When held and viewed, the Ocean Explorer Map shows a top-down view of the surrounding terrain, with a player marker and an Ocean Monument icon. The player marker moves when traveling, helping guide them toward the monument. The map does not update terrain details beyond its original rendering.

Unlike a normal map, an Ocean Explorer Map has a fixed destination and does not track new areas explored by the player. It remains unchanged once generated but is a valuable tool for locating Ocean Monuments efficiently.

An Ocean Explorer Map can be placed in item frames for display or used as a navigation tool. Unlike a Cartography Table, it cannot be copied or expanded but remains a key item for underwater exploration.
