Husk

Husk is a zombie variant that spawns in desert biomes. It functions similarly to a regular zombie but has two key differences: it does not burn in sunlight, and its attacks inflict the Hunger effect, which reduces the player's saturation and makes them lose hunger faster.

Husks drop 0–2 rotten flesh upon death, which can be increased with the Looting enchantment. They also have a 0.83% chance (up to 1.82% with Looting III) to drop iron ingots, carrots, or potatoes. If killed by a player, they drop 5 experience.

Husks cannot be bred but spawn naturally in deserts, typically replacing zombies in dry biomes. If a husk drowns in water, it transforms into a regular zombie instead of a drowned, making it the only zombie variant that does not convert into a drowned when submerged.

Husks are hostile mobs and attack players on sight. Their melee attacks inflict the Hunger effect for 7 seconds on Normal difficulty and 13 seconds on Hard difficulty, making food consumption necessary to recover. Since husks do not burn in daylight, they pose a persistent threat in desert biomes during both day and night.
