Chicken

Chicken is a passive mob in Minecraft commonly found in plains, forests, jungles, and villages. Chickens drop 1 raw chicken (or cooked chicken if killed with fire) and 0–2 feathers when killed. They also drop 1–3 experience upon death.

Chickens can be bred using seeds (wheat, beetroot, melon, or pumpkin seeds). When two adult chickens are fed seeds, they enter "love mode" and produce a baby chick. Baby chickens take 20 minutes to grow into adults, but this time can be reduced by feeding them more seeds. Chickens passively produce eggs every 5–10 minutes, which can be collected and used for crafting, baking, or hatching new chickens by throwing them.
