Pufferfish

Pufferfish is a passive aquatic mob found in warm ocean biomes. It is known for its defensive ability to puff up when threatened, dealing damage and inflicting Poison to nearby players and mobs. Pufferfish drop 1 pufferfish upon death, which can be used for brewing water breathing potions or as a food source (though eating it gives negative effects). They also drop 1–3 experience when killed by a player or tamed wolf.

Pufferfish cannot be bred but can be captured using a water bucket to create an aquarium or fish farm. Pufferfish are neutral mobs and will inflate when approached by players or mobs. While puffed up, they deal knockback and poison damage to nearby creatures. If the player stays too close, they will be poisoned for 5 seconds. Once the threat moves away, the pufferfish will deflate and return to normal size.

Pufferfish are hunted by axolotls and will attempt to escape when attacked. They can be placed in buckets of water and transported to different locations. Due to their poison effect, they are often used in traps or defensive underwater builds.
