Tadpole

Tadpole is a bucketable aquatic baby passive mob that hatches from frogspawn. It matures into one of three frog variants, depending on the biome in which it grows up. Tadpoles do not drop any items when killed. Tadpoles cannot be bred, but they hatch from frogspawn in groups of 2–5. They grow into frogs after 20 minutes, but their growth can be accelerated by feeding them slimeballs, with each feeding reducing their remaining growth time by 10%.

Tadpoles swim aimlessly in water but will flop around when on land, searching for the nearest water source. If they remain out of water for more than 20 seconds, they will die. Unlike frogs, tadpoles are hunted by axolotls, making them vulnerable in shared aquatic environments. Tadpoles follow players holding a slimeball and can be picked up with a water bucket, allowing them to be transported to different biomes. Their frog variant is determined by the biome they mature in, making it possible for players to choose which type of frog they want to raise.
