Name Tag

A name tag is an item used to rename and customize the names of mobs in Minecraft. It cannot be crafted and must be obtained through fishing, dungeon chests, mineshafts, woodland mansions, or by trading with master-level librarian villagers. To use a name tag, it must first be renamed in an anvil, after which it can be applied to a mob by right-clicking. Named mobs do not despawn naturally, making name tags useful for keeping pets or special mobs in place. Some names have unique effects, such as naming a sheep "jeb_" to make it cycle through colors or naming a mob "Dinnerbone " or "Grumm " to flip it upside down.
