Villager
Villager is a passive mob that inhabits villages, working at various professions, breeding, and interacting with other villagers. Their outfit varies based on their biome and profession. Players can trade with villagers using emeralds as currency, allowing them to obtain valuable items. Villagers drop 3–6 experience when a player successfully trades with them. If a villager is willing to breed, they drop 8–11 experience upon trading. Villagers can be infected by zombies, turning into zombie villagers, which can later be cured using a splash potion of Weakness and a golden apple.
Villagers can be bred when there are enough beds with two empty blocks above them in a village. Job sites are not required for villagers to breed, but they must be willing, which occurs when they have enough food (such as bread, carrots, potatoes, or beetroots). When two willing adult villagers meet the breeding conditions.
Villagers seek employment at job site blocks, also known as workstations. Unemployed villagers (excluding babies and nitwits) will claim an available job site block and take on the corresponding profession. Villagers who have already made their first trade must keep their job site block to refresh their trades. Unemployed villagers who have not yet traded can switch professions based on available workstations.
Villagers wander around villages, interact with each other, work at their professions, and seek shelter at night or when a raid occurs. During a raid, villagers will ring bells, run indoors, and attempt to hide from Illagers. Their interactions, breeding mechanics, and ability to offer trades make them a key part of Minecraft’s survival and economy systems.
