Desert Well
Desert Wells are rare features found in desert biomes, made primarily of sandstone blocks and slabs surrounding a single water source. Though they appear simple, they contain hidden archaeological value beneath the surface.
These wells have a very low chance of generating—1 in 1000 per chunk in Java Edition and 1 in 500 in Bedrock. They're considered features rather than full structures and can appear even with structure generation turned off.
Beneath the water are two layers of suspicious sand that can be brushed to uncover items like pottery sherds, emeralds, bricks, or suspicious stew. While they offer no combat or major loot, Desert Wells reward curious explorers with subtle, buried treasures hidden in the sands.
