Poppy

Poppy is a red flower that naturally generates in many biomes and can be used to craft red dye. Poppies can be mined instantly with any tool and drop themselves when broken. They generate in plains, savannas, forests, jungles, meadows, and other grassy biomes. In Java Edition, applying bone meal to a grass block in these biomes has a chance to generate poppies. In Bedrock Edition, bone meal can generate them in any biome except swamps, dark forests, and certain birch forests.

Poppies can be used to craft Suspicious Stew, which grants a Night Vision effect when consumed. They can also be placed in flower pots for decoration. Bees pollinate poppies, increasing the honey level in beehives and nests. Additionally, oak, birch, and cherry trees grown near poppies have a 5% chance to spawn with a bee nest containing bees.

Poppies can be composted with a 65% chance to increase the compost level. They can also be found in plains village chests with a 12.1% chance and are sometimes sold by wandering traders for one emerald. Iron Golems drop 0–2 poppies when killed.
