Crafter

Crafter is a crafting table that answers to redstone. Every pulse it receives consumes the ingredients laid out in its grid and pushes the finished item out of its front face, which is what an auto crafter has to do to sit at the end of a farm and turn its output into something worth storing.

The grid is the part worth learning. Clicking a slot toggles it off, and a disabled slot refuses items, so a hopper feeding the Crafter cannot scatter its input across squares the recipe does not use. That is how one input keeps producing sticks, ladders or compressed blocks instead of jamming: leave the pattern's squares enabled and switch every other one off.

Because it only works when pulsed, the usual build is a hopper filling the grid, a comparator reading how full it is, and a pulse fired once the recipe is complete. The output goes wherever a dropper's would — into a hopper, a chest, or another Crafter for a second crafting step.

A Crafter is not a workbench. You cannot craft by hand from its interface; the grid is there to define a recipe, not to use one, and it holds a single arrangement at a time, so parallel production means more crafters. What it buys is the last manual step in bulk work: compressing farm output into blocks, turning sugar cane into paper, and feeding storage systems that would otherwise need a player standing at a table.
