Tadpole

The Tadpole is a bucketable aquatic baby passive mob that hatches from frogspawn. It matures into one of three frog variants, depending on the biome in which it grows up. The Tadpole does not drop any items when killed. It cannot be bred, but it hatches from frogspawn in groups of 2–5. It grows into a frog after 20 minutes, but its growth can be accelerated by feeding it slimeballs, with each feeding reducing its remaining growth time by 10%.

The Tadpole swims aimlessly in water but will flop around when on land, searching for the nearest water source. If it remains out of water for more than 20 seconds, it will die. Unlike frogs, Tadpole is hunted by axolotls, making it vulnerable in shared aquatic environments. The Tadpole follows players holding a slimeball and can be picked up with a water bucket, allowing it to be transported to different biomes. Its frog variant is determined by the biome it matures in, making it possible for players to choose which type of frog they want to raise.
