Breaking Short Grass has a 12.5% chance to drop wheat seeds, with the Fortune enchantment increasing the number of seeds. It can be obtained as an item by using shears, while tall grass drops two Short Grass when sheared. Placing a block on Short Grass destroys it without dropping seeds.
In Bedrock Edition, Short Grass can generate with random height variation. It can also be found in savanna village chests with a 45.9% chance. Sheep eat Short Grass to regrow wool, and baby sheep mature faster when grazing. It can be composted with a 30% chance to increase compost levels. Using bone meal on Short Grass transforms it into tall grass.
