Copper Axe
The Copper Axe is a versatile tool and weapon crafted from copper ingots. It functions both as a chopping tool for wood-based blocks and as a melee weapon, dealing higher base damage than a copper sword but swinging slightly slower. With its bright orange tone and gradual oxidation, the Copper Axe visually evolves over time unless waxed with honeycomb.
It is crafted using three Copper Ingots and two Sticks arranged in a diagonal pattern within a crafting grid. The Copper Axe has 250 durability in Java Edition (255 in Bedrock Edition) and an attack damage of 9 (4.5 hearts) when used as a weapon. It can chop logs, planks, and other wood variants faster than lower-tier tools such as stone or wooden axes. When used in combat, it can perform critical hits and cleave multiple enemies when enchanted with Sweeping Edge.
The Copper Axe can be repaired by combining two damaged axes or by using Copper Ingots in an anvil, restoring 25% durability per ingot. It supports most standard tool enchantments, including Efficiency, Unbreaking, Mending, and Fortune, as well as combat-focused ones like Sharpness and Smite. Like other copper items, it naturally oxidizes through four stages unless waxed, giving it a distinctive aged appearance that sets it apart from other tool materials.
