Librarian
The Librarian is a villager profession in Minecraft that specializes in trading books, enchanted books, and other knowledge-related items. It uses the Lectern as its job site block, which allows unemployed villagers to take on the profession when placed nearby.
Trades include bookshelves, regular books, paper, and clocks, but the most valuable trade is enchanted books, which allow players to obtain powerful enchantments for tools, weapons, and armor. At higher levels, Librarians also offer name tags, which can be used to rename mobs and prevent them from despawning.
They progress through five levels—Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and Master—unlocking better trades as they gain experience. They can be leveled up by trading emeralds, paper, books, and ink sacs.
Librarians can be zombified and cured to reduce trade costs, making them useful in trading halls. They spawn naturally in villages but can also be assigned the profession by placing a Lectern near an unemployed villager.
